Christmas at the Victoria Quarter

Of course any city centre is going to be looking festive at the moment - Leeds included - but the grand setting of the Victoria Quarter seems to take it to another level each year. This year is no exception with lights and baubles strung from the ceiling, a centrepiece of a grand tree and even the Harvey Nichols cafe has it's own tree to host the season.

A handful of Leeds bloggers got the Victoria Quarter VIP experience, getting a tour of a choice pick of their stores and seeing what was in store for the season.

First up for me (after missing Illamasqua... for shame), we had a look around the new Sandro store. An entirely new brand for me, but their winter wear is pretty impressive - in particular their super soft bobble hats and the fur lined coat. I've got some serious high end lust for when it comes time for a luxury treat.

Heading around the glorious tree, we headed up to Links of London. I forever lust after their classic bracelets but we got introduced to some of their stunning new ranges.

The below is the Timeless Collection, tied into the London heritage with the design being based on the face of the Big Ben. I love the rose gold cuff from this collection, although if you're feeling particularly treaty their 18 karat gold range is some serious luxury and particularly glittery with the stones.

I for one have fallen for another dainty piece to add to my collection and want to add the tiny star bracelet to my jewellery drawer.

To finish off our afternoon in Leeds' most luxurious quarter, we were treated to afternoon tea at Harvey Nichols. Such a good selection, although so very filling. Afternoon tea is a favourite of my mum and me and the Christmas afternoon tea at Harvey Nics would be perfect for a mother daughter duo.

Having become addicted to My Kitchen Rules Australia (Sky Living on a week evening), I'm all too familiar with a flower garnish. So obviously spotting a floral garnish atop my miniature gingerbread dessert was another treat. There's also winter warmer drinks - not exclusive to afternoon tea - I know far too many people craving a warmed version of their fave drink at this time of year, so definitely one to taste test.

Fair to say I've got my eye on some luxury treats now... But even if you're shopping on a less-luxe budget, the cafes on offer in the Victoria Quarter are well worth a visit. Filmore & Union is on my next breakfast trip agenda, the perfect excuse to fit in some more shopping...
