Eat North, Leeds

Things needed when the sun enthrals the city? Beer, food and a non-moving sun spot for the day. I've got just the thing for you. And, if the weather doesn't hold up, the rest will still be ticked off on this one, so we're not doing too bad.

City folk, head to Eat North over the summer. The mini food-fest will be taking up residence at North Brewing Co for the next few weeks, spilling out of the tap room and into a sun bathed haven on the edge of the city whenever a Saturday is graced with the good weather.

The inaugural festival was this past weekend and it fully delivered. My eats for this past weekend include the Dukkha beets & beans burger; the best kind of veggie, plus a layer of cheese that was delicately grilled around the edges.

Alongside the veggie offering (and some seriously dreamy looking halloumi fries that I regrettably skipped) another four vendors to choose from. A steady rotation over the next few weeks is what you can expect, with some names you might recognise and some that are no doubt new to you and your taste buds.

Head to the Leeds Indie Food Twitter for more information.

Of course, with every food festival hosted at a tap room, comes ice cold beer - this one fresh from North Brewing Co. Come rain or shine, you'll have the beer - bonus. Plus, the absolute winning formula of table service whilst you get sun soaked if it delivers. I tried (and re-tried) the Hit the North, white coffee IPA this weekend which was a favourite for me. Try Transmission from them for something easy drinking and head down for the Magic Rock tap takeover at the end of the month if you want to see why I'm such a fan girl.

Expect weeks of changing street food on the agenda, with a few surprise announcements along the way I'm sure. I can't guarantee the A+ tanning weather of last weekend, but great beer and delish food is guaranteed. I'll see you there.
