January has become the haul month. It may be the longest month of no money, but always my spendiest. And I can't really use the sales as much of an excuse.
If I were on the defence, then all the above (bar the frivolous yellow jumper) are staples of style. For now anyway.
The striped T-shirt (similar here
) is one of those perfect basics, from Pop Boutique - or more accurately the vintage fair I stumbled upon in The Corn Exchange - as are the Girlfriend jeans
from H&M. Yes, girlfriend fit - essentially a more tailored 'boyfriend' if you find boyfriend fit too oversized. The fashion struggles.
The only one of two sales I successfully hit up (alongside many, many returns) was Zara, which is where the frivolous jumper (similar here
) and embellished top came from. Both of which fitting like a dream. And the Office sale - success in the way of studded brogues
. Less sale success, more staple success with the tan boots
. The 'perfect' pair have been on my list for a couple of years, I committed to a tan pair almost identical to my favourite black version.
The studded slippers - since renamed my Tetris shoes by my boyfriend - are from Cloggs*. I was invited to their York store opening in early December and got these beautiful shoes as a parting gift. They're by French Connection but I can no longer find them anywhere online. I've been waiting for a consistent couple of days inbetween sub-zero temperatures and snow drifts where it's appropriate to wear open foot, suede shoes. Coming to an Instagram near you soon (if you didn't already spot them).
